Presentation
Service as Our Superpower: Building Pharmacies that Save the Day
October 10 | 4:30 - 5:30 PM
Location: Newport III (Grand Ballroom), The Westin Jersey City Newport
Presented by Dr. Mayank Amin, Owner & Chief Patient Advocate, Skippack Pharmacy
About the Session
Independent owners face headwinds: reimbursement pressure, staffing, and shifting patient expectations but service can still move mountains. In this session, Dr. Mak shares how reopening a shuttered community pharmacy and mobilizing 1,000+ volunteers during the pandemic became a blueprint for resilient, service-driven growth. Expect candid stories, actionable playbooks (community partnerships, clinic operations, patient experience), and leadership lessons you can take home to your team. You’ll leave with concrete ways to turn your pharmacy into a trusted community lifeline—and the conviction that not all heroes wear capes.
Featured Speaker
Dr. Mayank Amin
Owner/Chief Patient Advocate, Skippack Pharmacy
Dr. Mayank Amin affectionately known as Dr. Mak is a pharmacist, entrepreneur, and community leader whose passion for service has redefined what it means to be an independent pharmacy owner. When a beloved 50-year pharmacy in his hometown closed after being sold to CVS, Dr. Mak reopened it as Skippack Pharmacy, restoring a vital community lifeline.
During the pandemic, he became known as the “Superman Pharmacist,” donning a Superman costume to symbolize that the “S” stood not for “Superman,” but for seva (service). With the help of over 1,000 volunteers, he organized one of Pennsylvania’s largest vaccine drives, ultimately vaccinating more than 100,000 Pennsylvanians. Constantly sought out by local and national news outlets, Dr. Mak uses his platform to highlight the power of community, service, and storytelling. His mission is simple yet profound: to show that not all heroes wear capes, some wear white coats.
